Love – Our Covenant & Intheritance
The following article was written by my daughter Annah who is also on staff with us here at WhiteDove Ministries. I was both proud and moved as I read her revelation and testimony. I trust you will likewise benefit from her insight– Paul Keith Davis
I sometimes say to myself, “I desperately want to live a life of genuine love and compassion!” Then, I think of Jesus and His example; my mind becomes boggled by the love and mercy of the Savior. I realize I need the Lord’s Spirit to come upon me and love through me as He loves; because, in my own human attempts, I often fail.
During the fall of last year, as I parked my car at our condo, I closed my eyes for a brief second. As I did, I saw plain as day, the Statue of Liberty in front of me. Sounds crazy, I know, but it was so clear and I knew it was from God.
I have really asked the Lord to reveal to me what His purpose was in showing me that vision. I believe there are multiple reasons that I don’t fully understand right now. But one reason He showed as I read 2 Corinthians 3: 17-18:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
I need the Spirit of the Lord for a whole a lot of things; but, to teach me how to love like He loves would be a blessing beyond comprehension. What is the way of love? It is found in I Corinthians 13:
Even If I speak with human fluency and angelic sounds but don’t love, I’m nothing but the groaning of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with authority, revealing mysteries, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “move,” and it moves, if I give everything I own to the poor and offer my life as a sacrifice, but don’t have love, I’ve gotten nowhere and could not boast. With out love, I’m bankrupt…
Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, but keeps going to the end.
As I was reading this awesome passage, the Lord highlighted verse 11 to me saying:
When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Time to Grow Up
I believe God is telling me, “Annah, it’s time to grow up because I have a huge destiny in store for you. It’s time to stop holding on to past anger, bitterness, resentment and pain because they will only keep you from clearly seeing Me and the future I have for you.”
God is saying to us, “I want to use you. I want you to be part of this end-time army. You have an inheritance in Me, and that inheritance is the Kingdom–souls, healings, deliverances, and destinies. Let go and allow My Spirit to move you for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Let your heart be free! It’s not by might, nor will it happen in your own strength, but by My Spirit.”
Psalm 23:2 says, “He makes me lay down in green pastures, He leads me beside STILL waters, HE RESTORES MY SOUl;” My prayer is, “Lord restore my soul so I can be all that you put me on this Earth to be. Allow my eyes to be clear from the fog so I can see my destiny and ultimately help bring to You the inheritance that You paid such a high price for.”
Time of Covenant
In October 2006, Bob Jones, an individual I trust and who definitely hears from the Lord, had a dream. In this dream, Bob saw the Lord handing me a container with salt in it. Bob said it represented the Lord’s covenant to me. I feel released and pressed to share this dream now because I trust that others also desire to see the hope of their calling in Christ Jesus as I do. God is offering this gift to us all. Our part is to realize it, be obedient to Him, and receive from Him.
In Isaiah 49:8 the Lord says, “In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages.”
God’s Spirit is saying to us, “Come unto to Me and I will make you a covenant. I will give you souls – Draw very near to Me and I will whisper strategies; make an eternal covenant of consecration to Me now for your inheritance is purpose, joy and life eternally fulfilled!! Draw near to Me – It’s not going to always be easy, but worth it! Souls, The Kingdom…Long for it. This is worth dying for–this is worth living for.”
I personally want to love like He loves, and be moved by His compassion in order for His Spirit to work through me. I experienced this to a small degree in 2007 when I was in Africa with Heidi Baker. I was praying for children and none of them spoke English, so I really didn’t know what they needed prayer for. I would just lay my hands on them and see where God directed.
There was one little girl whom I prayed for, and as soon as I put my hands on her, I began weeping uncontrollably. I had no idea why. I had no idea what to pray. But, the Lord’s compassion just poured through me as I cried. All I could THINK (because I couldn’t speak) was, “God, heal her heart…heal her heart.”
If God can use me, then He can use anybody. And He will use anybody who is willing to step aside and give Him control.
Doing Our Part
Oftentimes the Lord wakes me in the morning with a word or a phrase resounding in my spirit. In 2003, when I was living in Mississippi, I awoke to the sound of Acts 1:8:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
A follow up confirmation occurred in 2004 as I was preparing for a move to Alabama. I had spent a large portion of this particular day up and down my apartment stairs moving all of the clothes I owned from my closet to my car. As I was completing my final trip downstairs, I noticed a huge beach ball stuck under my car. As I came closer to it, I noticed it was a blow up globe of the world.
Part of the Lord’s purpose for this was to confirm His undying love for the world. He wants His birthright– the lost, the religious, the rebellious, the world. My hope and prayer is that I will do my part; whatever that looks like, wherever that takes me…. I just want to do my part!
